RokMote Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how RokMote — including its Apple Watch app, Home Screen widgets and Siri Shortcuts — handles information. RokMote is developed by Jimoo Dev ("we", "us"). If you have questions, contact us at jimoodev@gmail.com.
The short version
- No account or sign-in is required to use RokMote.
- RokMote shows no ads.
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) or App Tracking Transparency.
Information stored on your device
RokMote stores the following information locally on your iPhone, in a shared App Group so it is also available to RokMote's widgets:
- Remembered TVs — name, model, IP address and serial number, so RokMote can reconnect without rediscovering your TV each time.
- Settings — your app preferences and configuration.
- Favourites and usage counts — the channels you've favourited and how often you use each one, so your most-used channels are easy to find.
- Cached channel icons — images used to display channel artwork in the app.
This information stays on your device (and in the shared App Group used by RokMote's own widgets). Your Apple Watch receives your list of TVs directly from your iPhone, over your paired Watch connection, so you can use RokMote from your wrist.
Local network communication
RokMote talks directly to your TV over your Wi-Fi network to discover it and send commands (such as button presses, channel changes and keyboard input). This traffic stays on your local network, between your iPhone (or Apple Watch, via your iPhone) and your TV — it is not sent to us.
Third-party services
RokMote uses the following third-party services, provided by Google, to help us understand app usage and fix crashes:
- Google Firebase Analytics — an analytics-only configuration, without an advertising identifier, and with ad personalization and ad storage disabled. It collects app usage events and basic device/app information, such as app version, operating system version, a country derived from your IP address, and a randomly generated app-instance identifier.
- Google Firebase Crashlytics — collects crash reports and diagnostic information to help us find and fix bugs.
Google acts as our service provider for this data — it is processed on our behalf, not for Google's own advertising purposes. You can review Google's Privacy Policy and the Firebase privacy and security page for more detail.

Children's privacy
RokMote is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices and rights
- Delete local data — deleting the RokMote app from your device removes the TVs, settings, favourites and cached icons stored locally.
- Analytics deletion — contact us at jimoodev@gmail.com to request deletion of analytics data associated with your app-instance identifier.
- GDPR / CCPA rights — depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your data. Contact us and we'll do our best to help.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by RokMote, including relying on Apple's platform security for data stored on your device and on Google's security practices for Firebase services. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
